An unmatchable return on investment

Washington, D.C. had 11, 195 officially registered corporate lobbyists in 2009, and they spent 6 times what all the environmental, consumer, labor, and other noncorporate spent on lobbying efforts.  The single biggest lobbying and campaign is the financial services sector, with banks being the most powerful.  As Senator Dick Durbin commented, "Frankly, they own the place."  It's no wonder.  the estimated lobbying return on investment is 100 to 1.  Remember that $13 trillion in public bailout funds for the banking sector?
